What it Means To Be Your Biggest Inspiration and How To Make It Happen Today
Hey my love! I am so happy to see your beautiful face with me here again.
Giving the fact that you are here, you have definitely seen the big bold letters on the front of my website,
Are you ready to become the biggest inspiration in your life?!
Sounds awesome! But what does that mean exactly?
When I think of being my greatest inspiration, I think about how incredibly proud I am of my accomplishments, struggles, breakthroughs and successes. I think about how I got to be where I am now and the times that I persevered in order to accomplish my goals.
Growing up, I always felt different. I was not even remotely what I call “classroom smart”, I loved the physical aspect of sports but hated competing, and to be honest I never thought I would see the day that I got my high school diploma. But with a whole lot of encouragement, support and grit on my part I got that diploma and went off to college with a whole new mindset.
I told myself that college will be the the first time I will do schoolwork all on my own and go the extra mile to learn in the way that works best for me. I was going to put the pedal to the metal and make it happen!
Not only did I ace most classes in college, but I also fought a chronic illness, supported my mother through a terminal illness, adopted a puppy, attended three Universities, became a lifestyle and health coach and a 200- hour certified yoga instructor, grieved the loss of my mother, etc….I mean c’mon...YOU BET I became my biggest inspiration!!
I am so much stronger and capable than I ever thought back then and it didn’t sink in until after I went through all of this. When I look back on the past 6 years of my life, I don’t even know how I did it--but I do know that my hard work and dedication to making my life exactly how I want it to be is a skill that is not unique to me.
I know for a fact that you have a story full of accomplishments, struggles, losses and wins. I know that you had to push yourself to be better and greater in some capacity and that you have had to pick yourself up off the floor after a hard day, week or year. And it is my belief that honoring your efforts and using it to inspire yourself to move forward is the best gift you could give yourself. Plus, if you are able to motivate yourself to live at your highest potential, then you give everyone around you permission to do the same--and trust me, people are looking for the permission to motivate themselves. Pretty cool don’t you think?
So in order to start cultivating an inspirational mindset today, all you need to do is to start reflecting on your life. I want you to start as far back as you would like and just write in your journal all the struggles, accomplishments, setbacks and proud moments you have experienced - nothing is too small or irrelevant as long as it comes to mind when you do this journaling!
Now think about all of the effort that went into these actions. All the blood, sweat and tears that made you who you are today and feel the satisfaction of knowing how incredibly capable you are! Do you feel strong, empowered and like a badass? I sure hope so!
The inspiration mindset is a practice, and don’t get discouraged if you life doesn’t suddenly change in an instant. In fact, I don’t think anyone can ever fully comprehend how capable they are! I like to take a few minutes every day to remind myself of my strength and after practicing this consistently I find that my inspiration mindset allows me to get more done, be more successful in general, be less intimidated, feel more calm and at peace, stress less and live more freely!
But now I want to hear from you! What does having an inspirational mindset mean to you?! I want to hear about how badass you are so share with me why you inspire yourself in the comments below!
