Fool Proof Guide To Sneaking More Veggies In Your Life + RECIPE IDEAS

It’s a no-brainer that we need to eat lots of veggies in order to maintain a healthy body and healthy life, yes? But when it comes down to it, a lot of people have absolute lack of motivation to actually eat them!

Lucky for you, I have put together a few ways to sneak loads of veggies into all your favorite go-to meals. I promise you will not even know that you are eating an elevated meal...and who knows maybe you will like it even better with a little extra umph!

Pasta Sauce

Yeah I bet you didn’t think of that! I like to chuck a whole lot of veggies into my pasta sauce because why stop at tomato, garlic and basil? Try cooking up some mushroom, zucchini, yellow squash, carrots, spinach/kale or bell peppers up in your sauce! Not only will you be more satisfied but you’ll be less weighed down by the heavy meal of pasta.

Meatballs

We are just going with a good old fashioned pasta night at the moment and this is one of my favorite cooking tips. If you are not vegetarian/vegan adding veggies to your meatballs is a sure way to add amazing flavor and health benefits! Get creative here! My fave addition is grated up zucchini and spinach!

Mashed Potatoes:

Yes, you can still eat mashed potatoes and make them healthy! I love to swap our a portion of your potato for something like sweet potato, cauliflower, broccoli, or parsnip. Still so yum and way more nutrient dense!

Oatmeal:

Veggies at breakfast are the best way to start the day! This will definitely give you a little pep in your step and you will be glowing all day. Oatmeal is a really fun food to experiment with. It can be savory, sweet, plain, crunchy, smooshy, baked...literally anything.

Try adding in carrots for a carrot cake flavor, zucchini for zucchini bread, and sweet potato for a pumpkin pie kinda vibe.

Smoothies:

It is all the hype to put veggies in a green smoothie type situation which is totally awesome! I encourage you to jump on this bandwagon by chucking some steamed and frozen cauliflower, zucchini, avocado, spinach/greens, sweet potato, steamed carrots and even more!

Try using veggies paired with a more sweet fruit like banana or mango to start so that you can get used to the taste while you are figuring out what ratios you like!

Soup:

Soup has endless possibilities. You can put all sorts of veggies in a soup, add seasoning and make it your own! Any type of veggie could end up in a soup so just get creative and maybe try a veggie you haven’t tried before!

Smart Swap: Chips and Guac and a fan favorite and you can definitely find me by the guac bowl during family/friend gatherings! I like to swap at least 80% of my chip consumption with things like sliced cucumber, carrots, and celery!
